Pan o’n i’n gweithio yn y eglwys bach yn Salem, Massachusetts, roedd y gynulleidfa yn llawn o’r cerddorion poeth iawn. Naethon ni ysgrifennu’r caneuon o’r y gwynfydau yn saesneg. Roedd New King James Beibl yn dyfnyddio achos mae o’n mwy mydryddol/barddol na’r fersiwnau eraill. Naethwn i synio’r prosiect achos y Gwynfydau ydy’r perffaith I disgrifio sut i feddwl ac action ein helpu ni neud byd gwell. Ron i’n paratoi dechrau taith dros Cymru am flwydden pan y syniad dod i mi i wneud yr un prosiect yn Gymraeg. Mae’r enw album yn dod o’r Beibl Cymraeg Newydd a fersiwnau hŷn, achos mae’r gwynfydau yn dechrau gyda’r geiriau “Gwyn eu Byd”. Efallai byddet ti’n temilo fel y prosiect ydy yn llawn o’r rhy ailadrodd, ond mae’r ailadrodd rhan o’r prosiect. Dw i’n gobeithio y caneuon yma yn gallu defnyddio helpu pobl i gofio a byw y geiriau yma. Os dan ni’n gallu clywed y geiriau ac yn eu byw nhw, efallai dan ni’n gallu newid y byd tipyn bach.

Quick and Dirty Recording – New Album

When I worked in the small church in Salem, Massachusetts, the congregation was full of very hot musicians. We wrote the songs from the gwynfydau in english. The New King James Bible was quoted because it is more metrical/poetic than the other versions. We came up with the project because the Gwynfydau is the perfect way to describe how to think and act to help us make a better world. If the people remember the words, I thought, maybe they will start to live like the suggested words.

I was preparing to start a tour of Wales for a year when the idea came to me to do the same project in Welsh. Therefore, I have called the project "Songs for a Better World." This project came together in two weeks. Like the English project, I did not use a newer version of the Bible because it is more metrical/poetic. The album name comes from the New Welsh Bible and older versions, because the beatitudes begin with the words "Gwyn eu Byd". You might think that the project is full of too much repetition, but the repetition is part of the project. I hope these songs can be used to help people remember and live these words. If we can hear the words and live them, maybe we can change the world a little bit.
